my former Pen Pal from Bagdad |
I had been waiting for the bus for hours when Hussein approached me. We had some talk on the bus ride and exchanged addresses. Two months later, back home, I sent my first letter to Hussein who lived near the Water Tower. Unfortunately I forgot his last name. We became pen pals and kept writing for 2 or three years. In 1965 Hussein came to Germany as a student and must have spent some time at a German university. If you happen to know about his whereabouts, please let me know. |
Only two weeks after setting up this page I got a mail from Hussein. It turned out he had found the postcards I sent him back in 1963 at the same time I set up this page. He searched and found me on the Internet. Hussain Al-Azawi has been living in Germany since 1967 in the neighbourhood of Hannover. |
