Bought in March 1972. By far the best bike I owned in those years. Ciao two-strokes! Perfect motor emitting a terrific howl blasting over Alpine Passes. I'd ridden close to 20'000 miles when I sold it and thought I was my last bike. To my right Kurt on his Kawasaki Mach IV. On the 'Autobahn' between Hockenheim and Bale. |

Fifty ponies were good for the ton and a bit more. This motor was smooth as a turbine and absolutely reliable. The oil pressure switch was prone to leak oil which was cured by two-component resin. One of the last bike provided with electric- and and kick-start. The four header pipes coloured nicely. Rigid chassis and decent brakes. My first bike equipped with a disk brake. |

March 1973, 16,506 miles on the clock. I'm close to tears. Where's my youth gone? It's June 2004 I'm writing these lines. Youth will never come back, so I keep on riding to be close to it. |

In Southern Switzerland with my future wife and Kurt. Yeah, a 500 Four's got to have four exhausts, just like Hailwood's. |
